Jack is a son of Cleon and Pearl Boyl Frost. His siblings include brothers Veron, Dee and Clair, and sisters Cleona and Margery. He married Ruth Ann Jones June 23, 1963 in Centralia, they have one son and one grandson.

Dr. Frost is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, since 1946 he has served the Centralia community as a general pracitioner and surgeon. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Marion County Medical Society, the AAFP, the IAFP, the Illinois Northern Egyptian Academy and he was active on the staff at St. Mary's Hospital. He has served as the chief of staff at St. Mary's on several occasions and as head of the OB/GYN and surgical departments in previous years.

Jack is a member of the Centralia Sports Hall of Fame as an individual recipient, and as a member of the Centralia football team of 1936. He still holds individual football records at Centralia High School, and he was also an outstanding player at Washington University. Jack served as doctor for the Centralia High School Athletic Department for 40 years.

He was a nationally known breeder and owner of racing quarter horses. Jack was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association, a charter member of the Racing Guild and a member of the Ranchero Vistaderos. He served in the US Navy during World War II, enlisting July 1, 1943, before returning to Centralia and entering private practice.

He was always a generous host to family and friends who visited his home, and made a point to make each guest feel welcome and comfortable.
