Harriett Buchanan


Services for Harriett A. Buchanan, 92, of Nebraska City, who died April 23, 1987, at Duff's Friendship Villa, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Gude Mortuary chapel in Nebraska City.

Mrs. Buchanan was born Feb. 21, 1895, at Nebraska City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asbury Bryan. She and Jefferson Buchanan were married June 30, 1920, in Nebraska City. He preceded her in death May 1, 1962.

A housewife, Mrs. Buchanan lived much of her life in Nebraska City. Former places of residence include Franklin County, Neb., and Smith Center, Kan. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Junior Buchanan, who died as an infant, and Patricia Buchanan, who died at age 10.

Survivors included nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City. Gude Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
