Severina Rose Belini, 93, of 29 Wood Lane, Cheshire, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Sugar Hill in Dalton, where she had resided for the past one year and eight months.

Born in West Stockbridge on October 24, 1917, a daughter of Felix and Teresa Vircelina Delmolino, she was educated in West Stockbridge schools. Severina's mother died when she was nine years old, and she helped to raise the family and then took care of the Belini family, as well.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Belini had also worked as a waitress and cleaning lady at Green Acres. Prior to that, she had worked at the Berkshire Mills and at Reinhart's Turkey Farm.

She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. She was a member of the Cheshire Senior Center and helped serve the meals. She helped reorganize the Cheshire Baseball League. Mrs. Belini walked the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail four miles a day weather permitting. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Her husband, Biagio A. Belini, whom she married on December 28, 1933 in St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge, died December 1, 1999.

Mrs. Belini leaves a daughter, Janet B. Newton of Cheshire; two sons, Robert B. Belini and his wife, Tonie, of Cheshire, and Bruce J. Belini and his wife, Judy, of Somers, Connecticut; a brother, Guerrino "Bill" Delmolino, and his wife, Ann, of Berkshire, and a sister, Delia "Dolly" Chapman of Lancaster, California; and eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Belini Gazaille, and four brothers, Felix Delmolino, Aldo Delmolini, Everett Delmolino, and Bruno Delmolino; a son-in-law, Forrest Newton, and a brother-in-law, Charles Chapman.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor.
Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held today, Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
