Mr. Charlie Clinard Jackson, 61, of Icard, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. He was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Caldwell County to the late William Clinard and Maybelle Adams Jackson. Charlie was retired as a finish repairman in the furniture industry and was known as a poet and songwriter. He is survived by his wife, Linda Pauline Hicks Jackson of the home; three sons, Charlie Clinard Jackson Jr. and his wife, Janice and Edward Laine Jackson, all of Icard and Richard Rich of Lenoir, two brothers, Clayton Jackson of Lenoir and Allie Jackson of Connelly Springs; three sisters, Cleo Greene and Judy Roberts, both of Lenoir and Linda Watson of Granite Falls; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and RayVon Jackson; and two sisters, Louise Townsend and Sara Munday. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with the Rev. Leonard Lindsay officiating. Interment followed in the Calvary Memorial Gardens.
