Bill Roach's "appointed" hour came Sunday morning while he was standing behind the pulpit presiding over our Morning gathering. Bill, apparently suffering a massive heart attack, collapsed on the platform area just after having offered the communion meditation.
He was immediately assisted by Terry Moore, a pre-med student (who had just finished a series of classes on cardio-vascular ailments) and Winfred Harrington who works at the Wilford Hall Medical Center. As one of the paramedics later replied "someone sure did a good C.P.A. work." The ambulance arrived in about 10 minutes. They worked (with assistance from a doctor on the phone) with Bill for about 45 minutes before they finally rushed him to Bexar County Hospital. But God's time was not to be delayed and Bill Roach fell asleep in Jesus. Robert Moc-zygemba was with him when he passed.
The congregation, stunned by the traumatic experience, was moved to hold a prayer service Sunday night in behalf of Kathy, little Michelle and Mrs. Griffin ( Kathy's •other ). Many of the area congregations were informed and they joined with us in our prayer support.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, at 2 P.M. at the building of Northside Christian Church, 5258 Evers Road. Internment will follow, with Military Honors, at Mission Park South - 1700 S. E. Military Drive. The services will be conducted by Vernon Melshans and Jon Rex Robertson of Eagle Pass, Texas. The church is asked to be in prayer for Kathy and the family.
