He married Miss Opal Reithemeyer on September 2, 1950 at Bay, MO. They made their home in Bland, Mo. Two sons were born to this marriage. In 1968 they moved to Union, Mo. Mr Bentlage had worked at the Chrysler Plant until his health forced him in to early retirement in 1980. He enjoyed the outdoors and his hobbies were fishing and baseball.
Those who survive are his wife Opal Bentlage of Union , Mo and two sons Doug Bentlage of St Louis, and Mark Bentlage and wife Peggy of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters Marie Schneider of Owensville and Frieda Nowack of Owensville, MO
