Billie Faye Mullis Courtney PAGELAND -- Mrs. Courtney, 77, passed away on May 19, 2007 at Hospice House of Union County. Mrs. Courtney, born in Union County, NC on May 4, 1930, was the daughter of the late James Haywood and Faye Mullis.
'Miss Billie' was known for her love of family, friends and flower gardening. She was the retired owner of Don's Drive-In Restaurant in Pageland. In recent years, she had worked with the annual 'Future Citizens' children's portrait program with the local newspaper. She enjoyed getting to know the parents and children photographed.
Mrs. Courtney was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, J. Don Courtney, Jr.; son, Phillip Courtney; and grandson Shannon Courtney. (Surviving were 1 son and 2 daughters)
A service to celebrate her life and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 12:00 noon at Providence Baptist Church in Pageland and an interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Pageland following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Baptist Church Youth Mission Fund, 232 Providence Church Rd., Pageland, SC 29728. Sutton Funeral Home of Pageland is serving the family.
