HOUSTON, Texas - Edward S. Griffith, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2001, in Houston. He was a former resident of Nederland for 43 years, member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and retired from Texaco, Inc. after 43 years. In 1994, he received a 50-year Masonic award from Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Michael Edward Griffith. Ed will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Loraine Griffith; daughter, Eleanor Scott and husband, Jack; daughter-in-law, Karee Griffith; grandchildren, Jack Duane Scott and wife, Holley, Tracy Scott, Michael K. Griffith and wife, Laurie, Jennifer M. Griffith, and Daniel E. Griffith; great-grandchildren, Michael W. Griffith, Blake A. Scott, and Brittany F. Scott; sister, Dorothy Armstrong and husband, William; brother, Robert Griffith and wife, Lillian, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services Friday, November 2, 2001, at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.

Interment to follow services to be at Crest Haven Cemetery in Olney, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Ed's honor to Wesley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 985, Nederland, Texas, 77627.
