Ionia, Sept. 29—Mrs. Mary A. Hayes, 77, widow of N.B. Hayes, is dead here. Mrs. Hayes' illness dates back to two years ago when she received a stroke of apoplexy in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayes were two of the most prominent people connected with all the history of Ionia county, both in its development and business interests. Mrs. Hayes leaves four sons, George D., H. Jay, and Jerry C. Hayes of Detroit, and Austin C. Hayes of Ionia and an adopted daughter, Mrs. M. O. Greenhoe of Muir.
