Born July 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Wilbren and Alma (Anderegg) Lynch Smith.
He loved gardening, fishing and woodworking. He retired from General Motors in 1993 after working 28 years. He just lost his two best friends, his dogs, Amos and Brutus.
Surviving are his sister, Byresia (Fred) Lynch Gritten; three stepdaughters, Ann (Curt) Lewsader, Sarah Overstreet and Julie Ortiz; two stepsons, Jerry Smitley and Chris (Angie) Nelson; stepfather, Hamilton (Erma Blakely) Smith; and several grandchildren.
Chet married Shirley Browning, who preceded him in death. Then, he later married Ruth Ann (Smitley) Lynch, who preceded him in death. He later married Fay Marie (Nelson) Lynch, who survives." - Commercial News, Danville, IL, June 5, 2011
