Services will be held 11 am Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph L. Waters officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Galveston, under the direction of Fields Funeral Home in Galveston.
Born May 24, 1905 in Leesville, La., Mr. Allen was a self-employed businessman. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and numerous civic, social and charitable organizations on the national, state and local levels. A Galveston resident for 60 years, he was owner and operator of Gus Allen Enterprises.
He is survived by four daughters, Darlene Allen Scott, Diane Allen Cole, Daniela Allen McIntosh, all of Galveston, and Debbie Allen Scott of Texas City; two sons, Danny Allen and Donald Allen, both of Galveston; one brother, Philip Harris of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter in law, Dianne T. Allen of Galveston; one aunt, 14 grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
