Freida Belle Simpson, 85, of New Albany, Ind., died Feb. 25 at the Mercy Providence Retirement Home in New Albany.

Mrs. Simpson was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Crosbyton, Texas, and had lived in Cheyenne from 1954 until 2001, before moving to New Albany.

She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by two sons, Bob Simpson of Cheyenne and Randall Simpson of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Sharon Wright of New Albany and Treva Ratliff of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Joyce Schaefer of Stapleton, Neb., and Lyla Blevins of Gandy, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Simpson on April 27, 1999; eight brothers and sisters; and her parents, Floyd and Mabel (Dickerson) Fowler.
