Charles Milton Coffey. 59, of 1809 Malibar Road, a retired polygraph operator for the Fort Worth Police Department, died in a local hospital on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1973.
Mr. Coffey was a native of Fort Worth and was an Air Force veteran of WWII. He served with the Fort Worth Police Department prior to his Air Force Service and returned to the department at the end of WWII. Coffey was in the crime lab for the police department. He retired about two months ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Mason and a Shriner.
Coffey's father, G. Frank Coffey was Captain of the Fort Worth Police force when he was killed in the line of duty June 26, 1915. His mother, Fannie Card Coffey, was district clerk in the 1900's and later served with the Internal Revenue Service and was appointed the first woman field deputy in Texas.
Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Hermione, two daughters, Mrs. Claudia Fredericksen and Miss Jean Coffey of Midwest City, Okla; a sister, Mrs. Hallie Everitt of Dallas and a brother, Marvin Card Coffey of Fort Worth.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Shannon's North Funeral Chapel with burial in Mount Olivet, Ft. Worth.
