Mrs. Eliza Custer Riffle, Thomas Mills, Was 101 Years Old

Funeral services will be conducted Friday for Mrs. Eliza Custer Riffle, 101, who died last night at her home in nearby Thomas Mills. Mrs. Riffle, who marked her one hundred and first birthday anniversary, September 25, was believed to be Somerset County's oldest resident.

She had resided all of her life in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, where she was born September 25, 1840, the daughter of Samuel and Sally Umbern Custer, pioneer settlers of the district.
