The second of six children born to Alonzo "Lon" & Ida May (Moberly) Kennedy of Nashville, Brown Co IN, "Grat" married Beatrice "Bea" Deckard on 22 Dec 1925 in Brown Co IN, the daughter of Vernon & Daisy Pearl (Strain) Deckard of Brown Co IN.

2) Melville Clyde Kennedy (1928-2007), m: Martha McHaffey.
3) Jean Katrine Kennedy (b. 1929), m: Darrell Hudson.

"Kennedy
William Gratton Kennedy of Nashville, died Monday night at his residence after an illness of three years.
Born in Brown County October 4, 1902 to Alonzo and Ida Moberly Kennedy, he was 68.
Dec. 22, 1925 he married Beatrice Deckard and she survives. He lived in Brown County all his life.
The couple had five girls and five boys. One son and one daughter preceded him in death.
Mr. Kennedy was a retired machinist, having worked 24 years for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. He was a member of the Nashville Masonic Lodge; attended the Nazarene Church.
Funeral service will be today at the Bond Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Small officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Survivors besides his wife who is the Brown County Assessor, include four sons: William G. Kennedy, Columbus; Mel. Clyde Kennedy, Indianapolis; George Leston Kennedy, Linton; Sgt. James Robert Kennedy, Hamilton Air Force Base, Cal.; four daughters: Mrs. Katrine Hudson, Lena, Ill.; Mrs. Esther Percifield, Kokomo; Mrs. Vella Key, Louisville, Ky.
Also surviving are one brother, Charles Kennedy of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Enid Lemley, Columbus; Mrs. Ina Wachtstetter, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Juanita Clark, Knightstown; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren."
