Note: The burial location of Isaac's parents was provided on a 1981 family group sheet on the Archibald family prepared by a Millie Shaner. She submitted the FGS to the Jefferson county genealogy society and it was put into the family group sheet collection still in existence at the Fairfield Public Library, Fairfield, Iowa. It was consulted by this contributor in the making of the memorial for the mother, Elizabeth, in Orleans cemetery in Moulton, Iowa. Another contributor in 2010 made a memorial for Benjamin Archibald, and so they have been linked.

Update: although the FGS above and the obituary for Isaac Archibald give Elizabeth Archibald status as his mother, it should be noted that the father, Benjamin, was married to a Nancy Hall who reportedly died in 1837, and it now appears that on Isaac's death record that Benjamin and Nancy (her burial location not known) were his parents. It may be that after Nancy died in 1837 that Benjamin married Elizabeth and thus was considered by Isaac to be his "mother", although not his biological mother. Pending the discovery of a burial for Nancy, this memorial will link to Elizabeth as the mother of Isaac, but with caution.

-----------
Caution: the maiden name for Isaac's wife Elizabeth is uncertain at best. Isaac's obituary uses "Paxon"; but at least an 1880 U.S. Census report of his household shows that an "Elizabeth PAXTON", aged 71, presumably his wife's mother, was living with this family.

Update: Elizabeth's memorial updated July 22, 2016 with certain maiden name information and observations that family researchers should be aware of. See her memorial for that information.
