PORTERFIELD Graveside services for William Douglas Porterfield, age 61, of Martin, will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at 2:00 PM from the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Alexander officiating.
Mr. Porterfield passed away March 26, 2011.

Born February 13, 1950 in Athens, Georgia, Mr. Porterfield was the son of the late Earnest and Doris Hill Porterfield. Mr. Porterfield was retired from the logging industry where he owned and operated his own business. He was also a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Porterfield was preceded in death by two sisters at infancy.

Survivors include his wife Robin Iona Alexander Porterfield of Martin, sons Tony and Terry Porterfield of Reidsville, brothers Ronnie Porterfield of Clarkesville and Ray Porterfield of Alto, sisters Betty Jean Seabolt of Clarkesville, Diane Whitley of Athens, Cindy Johnson and Kay Kennedy of Alto, grandchildren Cody Porterfield, Chris, Jeb, and Jarritt Williams, and MadlieJane Williams.

The family will receive friends at the Hunter Funeral Home in Clayton on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 2-4 PM and from 6 – 8 PM.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
