James F. Baker, 79, died Friday morning in an Idaho Falls rest home where he had been living for the past two months.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1887 in Richmond, Utah, a son of James F. and Martha Bithel Baker. The family moved from Smithfield to Salt River, Wyo., and then to Swan Valley in 1891 where he lived and farmed.

He served in the U.S. Army for 18 months during World War I and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

He never married. Survivors include a brother, L. F. Baker of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Fisher of Popular, Miss Myrtle Baker of Las Vegas and Mrs. Linnie Patterson of Redondo Beach, Calif. and a nephew, Eldon Fisher of Rt. 2, Rigby.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Wood Chapel of the Pines with Bishop Kenneth Lundquist of Palisades LDS Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
