Dock Grace Allen, 300 Sycamore St. died Friday evening at his residence, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Allen was born in Floyd County, June 18, 1890 and had lived here all of his life. He was son of the late James E. and Georgia Ayers Allen. Mr. Allen was married to the former Miss Elizabeth Fowler, who died July 8, 1950. He was formerly an employee of the Pure Oil Co. prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Mountain Springs Methodist church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John Bradfield, Smyrna, Mrs. E. L. Hennon, Mrs. James C. Cross and Mrs. Paul Loyd, Rome; two sons, Marvin Duke, Rome and James Herman Allen, Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Larkin, Rome and Mrs. Amanda Beard, Norcross. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm. today in the chapel of Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Mabry officiating. Interment will be in East View cemetery.

The following will serve as pallbearers and include Herman Beard, George Eads, Wyatt Nelson, Frank Perry, Marlin Fowler and Carl Fowler.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home.
