Cousin to Dana Wellesley. Middle name came from his mothers father Edwin Potter Wellesley. He built a log home at one time next to Earl Spencer Wellesleys house in Wrangell Ak. Earl changed his name to Earl Spencer West & was a Marshal & Poet in Wrangell. I believe Earl inspired Loyd to become a police officer later after he moved to Calif.
Loyd worked as a fishing boat mechanic & raised Huskie dogs when living in Alaska
When Loyd & his father Bert first moved to Calif. they opened a gas station prior to Loyd becoming a motorcycle police officer & later became the Captain of the police dept.in San Pedro Ca.
Loyd & his wife Marion never had any Children.
