Obit Martha Telitha Burney, age 94, of Mableton, died Monday, August 9, 2010. Mrs. Burney was born in Covington, GA on October 11, 1915, and was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Benjamin Canup and Lucy Ann Minerva Jane Rudeseal Canup, her sons, Bobby and Billy Burney, and 4 grandchildren. She attended church at Trinity United Methodist and Austell First United Methodist and had been employed with Mickey's, Palms, and Mary's Restaurants. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and James Carder of Mableton, Janie and Wendall Nichelson of Rydell, and Kay and Bob Filosi of Douglasville; daughters, Faye Lingerfelt of Smyrna, Connie Burney of Mableton, and Patsy Burney Sanders; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Leah Burney of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; 56 great- grandchildren, 51 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel, with Rev. Brett DeHart officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 – 8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home
