Irma R. Greenwald, 90, of Solon, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, at Brosh Funeral Home Chapel in Solon. A memorial fund has been established in her memory.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, at Brosh Funeral Home Chapel in Solon, with the Rev. Scott Meador presiding. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa.

Irma Rachel Klahn was born July 27, 1917, in Scott County, the daughter of Edward and Dorothea (Paustian) Klahn. Her parents later moved to a farm near Durant. She received her education at a country school. She graduated from Durant High School in 1935. She married Ronald Roy Greenwald on November 4, 1937, in Stanwood. He died September 11, 1992, after a courageous battle with cancer. She worked with her husband in various occupations besides being a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of the Solon United Methodist Church and the Solon American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Solon resident from 1939 until 1997, when she moved to Toivola, Michigan, to make her home with her daughter. She returned to Solon in 2002, where she became a resident of the Solon Nursing Care Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Ronna Wilkings of Toivola, MI; two sons, Richard (Dolores) Greenwald of Waukesha, WI, and Roger (Linda) Greenwald of Mankato, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, two sisters and three brothers.
