Buried Here Last Sunday
The body of W. H. Bowersock was brought to this city from Copan last Sunday afternoon and laid to rest in the Sunnyside cemetery. A large concourse of friends and neighbors accompanied the body here and the Masonic order of this city turned out in a body to pay honor and respect to the departed one. Mr. Bowersock was one of the most prominent men of Copan and for years had been engaged in the mercantile business there. He was a Mason of wide acquaintance and the Scottish Rite Masons of Gutherie attended the services held at Copan on Saturday evening at 9:30 o'clock. A large number of friends and relatives attended the services and then accompanied the body to its last resting place here Sunday afternoon. The Klansmen were prominently noticed in connection with the last sad rites of the deceased. About a hundred robed and capped men marched through the church at the close of the service and deposited flowers on the casket. The leader carried the American flag and the second in line carried a flaming cross and then came one of the Klansmen who laid on the casket a large bank, or pillow of flowers. The K. K. K. letters were found in the pillow by red carnations being placed in the back-ground of white lillies. The pillow of flowers was brought to the local cemetery and there deposited on the casket at the grave.
