Back of photo identifies this picture as 6 brothers of Lucy Goodrich Wright who married Asher Andrews. Positive identification of Franklin Barber Wright is man seated in center in comparison to his picture to "Portrait and Biographical Album of Calhoun County, Michigan." Franklin's brother Grove (1820-1908) may be seated on bottom left in comparison to picture from Rock Falls, Illinois, Historical Society. Brother Simeon Wright (1822-1876) may be the man standing in the middle and compares closely with a picture from the Library Archives of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Other brothers could be Allen (1828-1897), Edwin (1829-1910) and Myron (1830-1917), and Marshall (1815-1899).

Possible error noted in obituary below. Funeral was actually conducted December 21, 1902, not November 21, 1902.

F.B. WRIGHT

F.B. Wright was born in Whitehall, Washington Co., N.Y., October 5, 1810, and died at his home in Marshall, December 18, 1902, aged 92 years.

Mr. Wright was one of the early settlers of Michigan. He came to Marshall in 1856, where he lived for 9 years. From there he moved to a farm near Lyon lake where he resided 40 years, moving to Marshall 8 years ago. He was married in 1845 to Miss Amanda Blodgett of Marshall and to them were born five children, four of whom are still living, who, with the mother mourn the loss of a faithful husband and a kind, indulgent father.

Mr. Wright became a christian in middle life, and remained a faithful christian and member of the Methodist church until his death. He was an intelligent and loyal citizen, a kind neighbor, gentle and pleasant to meet. He had many friend and all who knew him held him in high esteem. he lived a long and useful life, because he was a man of temperate habits and had a strong constitution. He was sick only a couple hours before he died. He arose from bed Thursday morning, at a light breakfast, conducted family prayer and was about the house until 9 o'clock when he was taken with neuralgia of the heart, and at 11 o'clock his spirit passed out from its earthly house to enter the mansions beyond.

The funeral was conducted at Lyon Lake by Rev. Adam Clark, Sunday afternoon, November 21, where his remains were laid at rest. A large concourse of old acquaintances attended the funeral, which was soleman and impressive.

Mr. Wright was a reader of The Statesman from the first year it was edited.

Father Chester Wright. Mother Parthena Barber. Brothers Simeon, Julius, Enoch, Grove, Allen, Myron, Danford, and Edwin. Sisters Lucy, Harriet, Mary, and Julia. Married Amanda Almira Blodgett March 23, 1845, in Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan. Sons Francis, Harry, and Irving. Daughters Eva and Julia. Settled in Section 14 of Fredonia Township, Calhoun County, Michigan. "Wright's Corners" named after this pioneer who came to Michigan in 1835. Farmer, teamster, and school director.
