Jack Loren Aughe was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Oberlin, Kan., to William Verne Aughe and Viola Clair Hale. He died Dec. 21, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center ECU.

He attended Oberlin schools and moved to St. Francis, Kan., where he met and married Mary Lois Kyte on July 1, 1951. He joined the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base as an instructor of power production courses. He spent his overseas duty at 546ASSD Squadron on Okinawa. After his tour there he returned to F.E. Warren. After discharge he worked as a plumber and foreman for C. Curtright Plumbing for 18 years. He became a steamfitter welder for the VA Medical Center until retirement.

He was a member of the Plumbers Union 192, Classic Chevy Club, a life member of the National Rifle Association and a past member of Brotherhood of Moose, city of Cheyenne Plumbing Board and Grace United Methodist Church.

His interests were boating, water skiing, rock hounding, lapidary and amateur jewelry making and bowling.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Simeon of Limon, Colo.; his wife, Mary Lois; daughters, Susan L. Aughe, Patricia L. White, Katharine L. Bratton, Myra L. Hopper of Cheyenne; Jeanette L. Aughe of Glendale, Ariz., Janet L. Jeffers of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ann L. Skinner of Lake Stevens, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and his dog, Nikki.
