On January 1, 1942, at St. Agnes Church, Utica, Peggy was married to Frank D. Pepe. Mr. Pepe died on June 24, 2003. For several years, Peggy was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base in the housekeeping department. She was a member of St. Mark's Church, Utica.
Margaret is survived by one brother, Ernest Bates, of Utica, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, notably her nephew, Edwin Ingersoll and his wife, Elaine, who cared for Peggy for several years.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Crandell, Catherine Phelan and Jeanette Ingersoll, and two brothers, Peter and George Bates.
