LEWIS PERRY SMITHSON -- Doniphan -- Lewis Perry ; Smithson, 84, of Doniphan, died Saturcay at his home. He was a retired carpenter. He was born July 5, 1899, in Ripley County, where he lived all his life. He was a member of the Church of Christ. On July 30, 1921, he was married to Luranna Lou Murdock in Doniphan. She died Dec. 1, 1983.
Surviving are three daughters, Lorene Reick and Pat Elder, both of St. Louis, and Irene Brooks of Collinsville, Illinois; four sons, Charles Smithson of Dexter, Bill Smithson of Malden, Paul Smithson of Kennett and Allen Smithson of Doniphan; two sisters, Ethel Guilliams of Doniphan and Nora Hyde of Mesa, Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was set for 2 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home, with Steve Hale officiating. Burial was in Doniphan Cemetery.
