GIRARD--Dorothy "Dora" C. Ewan, 79, of rural Girard, died at 4:11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 1992, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard, where she was a resident for the past four years. She entered the nursing home Dec. 22, 1988.

She was born on a farm northeast of Girard, March 28, 1913, to Ambrose Enlose and Ida Mae Shipman McClelland. She attended school in Girard.

She married Lester W. "Dutch" Ewan Jan. 2, 1931. They made their home north of Girard on a farm. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Lester, of the Heritage Nursing Home; seven sons, LeRoy Eugene "Bud" Ewan of rural St. Paul, James Leonard "Jim" Ewan of Parsons, Charles Wilbur "Chuck" of Pittsburg, Raymond Earl "Ray" Ewan of Parsons, Richard Floyd "Rich" Ewan of McCune, William Lester "Bill" Ewan of Diamond, Mo., and Robert Merle Ewan of Mulberry; five daughters, Frances Marie Payton of Fairland, Okla., Wanda Juanita Madl of Pittsburg, Mary Ellen "Sally" Gress of Fairland, Okla., Patricia Ann Moore of Girard and Marilyn Irene Willis of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Charles Floyd McClelland of Wichita; two sisters, Gladys Packard of Parsons and Esther Falder of Manhattan; 28 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Milton Donald Ewan, four brothers, Ray, Jessie, Harry and Frank McClelland and one sister.
