Son of William and Delana "Lucy" Decius Chatham. He married Margaret J. Young on December 11, 1864 in Vandalia, IL. He then married Mary Virginia "Jennie" Pierre/Perris December 5, 1867 and they had 8 children. He then married Lura Satterfield on September 26, 1895 in Christian County, IL. George served with the Union in the Civil War with the 35th Illinois Infantry, Company G, as a Private. (Other children not linked are William born 1870 & Joseph born 1880. I believe they both died as infants or very young children.)
