Eileen was born in Hazelton, North Dakota, the daughter of Abram Martilla and Ida Sofia Heiskari. She moved to Brush Prairie at the age of 5 and began playing a neighbor's piano around the age of 7. She played for dances and events until she was 85, when she ended up at the Battle Ground Elks, where she donated her last organ.
Eileen's father took her to dances until she met and fell in love with Bill Weisenborn. They were married July 28, 1939.
Working as a cook at North Parkway Nursing Home, Weisenborn played her music on the side. She mostly played with the Lingle Band throughout Clark County and some in Portland.
Weisenborn's family owned the original tavern in Brush Prairie, which eventually became the Brush Prairie Tavern, and currently is the Brush Prairie Bar and Grill. Her father also owned a barber shop, where Weisenborn played her piano for customers.
Eileen, a graduate of Battle Ground High School, also graduated from beauty school. Her hobbies included crafts, ceramics, quilting, trichem painting, playing the electric organ, piano and accordion. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Elks and Eagles.
Eileen is survived by her daughters Cheryl Lehner (husband Paul) and Patricia Akerill (husband Ken); sons Dennis Weisenborn (wife Jackie) and Michael Weisenborn (wife Susan); 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by William, Monte, Jack, Steven and Scott Weisenborn.
A funeral service was held Saturday May 14 2011 with a potluck to follow at the home of Ken and Patty Akerill, LaCenter, WA.
