Steve was involved in automobile sales for 35 years. He was a member of the St. Clair Country Club and the Lookinglass Corvette Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Vida, nee Sitton, Simonds.
He is survived by his wife, Sigrid, nee Seiwald, Simonds; a son, Thomas (Wendy) Simonds of Destin, FL; three daughters, Alicia (Eric) Resinger of Belleville, IL; Andrea Simonds of Belleville, IL; Renee (fiance, Corey Famula) Simonds of O'Fallon, IL; five grandchildren, Tyler, Tommy, Jr., Pamela, Megan and Baby Famula; his father, Robert H. Simonds of Jacksonville, IL; two brothers, Rodney (Karen) Simonds of Jacksonville, IL; Robert Simonds of New Berlin, IL; and three sisters, Susan Yutzy of Athens, IL; Nancy (Mike) Wolski of Pleasanton, CA; and Robin Musch of Arenzville, IL.
