Funeral services for Robert "Rob" Fuller Garner, IV, age 26, of Anniston, will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Anniston with Bob Prichard, Billy Helms, Dr. Vance Moore, and Dr. Margaret Davenport officiating and interment following at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Garner died November 1, 2007 in Greenville, SC. Rob was a graduate of The Donoho School, Class of 2000 and a graduate of Auburn University, Class of 2006, with a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Business Engineering Technology. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, where his deep-rooted fear of shaving first manifested itself. Rob will be remembered by his friends and family as a teller of stories, a wearer of short shorts (regardless of weather), an advocate of suspenders and Velcro watchbands. A tinkerer, a gadgeteer, a loving son and brother, and the kind of friend we wish we could be. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
Rob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fuller Garner, Jr. and John and Betty McMillon. Mr. Garner is survived by his parents, Dr. Robert F. Garner, III and Ann M. Garner; sisters, Dr. Christi G. Weeks and her husband, Dr. Jeff Weeks, and Ashley E. Garner; nephew, Jackson Weeks; aunts and uncles, Judy and Alan Schulman of Colorado Springs, CO, Judy McMillon of Macon, GA; and John and Cheri McMillon of Dahlonega, GA; and cousins, Peter and James Schulman and Trey and Amanda McMillon. Pallbearers will be Ben Snead, Brad Snead, Justin Marsh, Darren Dachelet, Matthew Capps, Matt Griffith, Joey Westerhausen, and Dr. Rodney Snead. Honorary pallbearers will be the Brothers of the Kappa Alpha Order and friends and classmates of The Donoho School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rainbow Omega, P.O. Box 740, Eastaboga, AL 36260-0740.
