"Blue Hill Leader", Blue Hill, Webster County, Nebraska
July 4, 1924, Front page

Emma Louise Brune, nee, Bechtoldt, was born at Raftz, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland on May 10, l862. In 1890 she came to the United States, coming to Blue Hill where she remained only for a short time from where she went to Denver, Colo. There she was united in marriage to Adolph Heusser. In 1893 they moved to Grand Junction, Colo, where her husband died in 1897.

To this union two children were born, Rudolph H. and Adolph J., who reside at Hastings, Neb.

The same year that her husband died she came to Blue Hill with her two small sons. Here she was again united in marriage to Henry Brune in 1898. They made their home upon a farm near Blue Hill until 1910 when they removed to Blue Hill. Her husband departed this life there in 1921. In December 1923 she moved to Hastings making her home with her son Rudolph at 418 E. 5th St. where she departed this life on June 29, 1924 after two years of intense suffering. She was a very patient sufferer and always cheerful until the last. She found a comfort in her Savior and to her, death came without a sting.

Funeral services were held at the home on July 1st, at 2:30 p.m. She was laid to rest in Parkview Cemetery.

At the time of her death, the deceased was 62 years, 1 mo. and 19 days of age. She leaves to mourn her death, two sons, Rudolph and Adolph Heusser, of Hastings, one sister, in Iowa and two brothers who reside in Switzerland.
