Matthew R. (Matt) Pouk, 19, of Port Charlotte, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 from injuries sustained during an automobile accident in Punta Gorda.

Matt was born June 18, 1990 in Port Charlotte to Jeffrey L. and Lisa Neff Pouk. A native of Port Charlotte and a Charlotte High School Graduate, Class of 2008, Matt, a former Tarpon Football Player, attended Edison College where he was studying toward a degree in Engineering
while working simultaneously as a stock clerk for Winn Dixie Grocery Stores in Port Charlotte and on Kings Highway. Matt, a loving and beloved son, brother, grandson and friend, was an avid outdoors person with a passion for Snook fishing.

Matt is survived by his beloved parents, Jeffrey and Lisa Pouk, and sister Kimberly Pouk, all of Port Charlotte; paternal grandfather, Robert Pouk, and maternal grandparents, Barney and Janet Neff, all formerly of Punta Gorda; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, 459 Gill St., Punta Gorda. Services will begin at 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Garden's cemetery in Port Charlotte.
