Walter Lamar Brashier, 64, of Memphis, formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at The Highlands of Dyersburg.

He was a retired security guard for Wells Fargo, member of Everett Memorial United Methodist Church in Memphis and a former teacher for the Memphis City School System.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his two sisters, Peggy Reeves and husband, Nick, and Barbara Butler, all of Dyersburg; three nieces, Vicki Misener of Redding, CA., Jamilu Nelson of Dyersburg and Debbie McCampbell of Rushville, MO.; and two nephews, John Nick Reeves, Jr. of Waipahu, Hawaii and Cledus Butler, Jr. of Piedmont, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beulah Becton Brashier; and a nephew, James Rose III.

Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Rob Hurt, Larry Nelson, Rob Barker and Kenneth Baucom.
