Nova- William A. Woodford, Sr., 58, RD #1, Nova, died Friday afternoon in Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital, Norwalk, after being stricken at his home, Thursday evening. A native of Elyria, he had lived in Nova area nine years. He was employed by Luxaire Corp., Elyria, for 17 years in the maintenance department. During World War II he was a member of the Merchant marine Naval Reserves. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London, and the United Steel Workers Local 6985, Elyria. Surviving are his wife, Rita , to whom he had been married 33 years; a son, William Woodford, Jr. Nova; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Nancy Roeder, Vermillion and five grandchildren. Services were conducted Sunday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Andrew Blasko officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, New London. The Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, was in charge of arrangements.
