Anna Catherine Frericks married Edward P Smith January 13, 1887 in Quincy, Illinois. She was his second wife. They had four sons; Edward F, Thomas F, William James, Edgar Paul

MRS. SMITH, ILL LONG TIME, DIES
FUNERAL WILL BE HELD TUESDAY FROM IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH
Mrs. Anna C Smith, wife of the late E. P. Smith, for many years one of Hannibal's prominent residents, passed away at 6:20 o'clock Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth's hospital at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 23 days.
Mrs. Smith had been in failing health for three years and during that period had a frequent times, been seriously ill, and, on last Wednesday her condition became so critical that she was removed to the hospital.
Surviving Mrs. Smith are three daughters, Mrs. Harry F. Wilbur and Mrs. Ella Lilly, both of whom reside in hannibal; Mrs. Josephine Hanson of Denver, Colo.; four sons, Ed F Smith and William James Smith, both of Chicago; Thomas F Smith of this city, who resided with his mother at the family home 219 South Ninth street, and E. Paul Smith, of St. Louis; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schullian of Quincy, and Sister Bonaventura who is mother superior in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Covington, Ky.; two brothers, Frank F Farricky, of Quincy and Andrew, of Chicago. Her husband died March 13, 1917.
Mrs Smith was a member of the Church of Immaculate Conception. Being a woman of very attractive personality and beautiful Christian character, Mrs. Smith was greatly loved and esteemed by all with whom she came in contact. She was a devoted mother and sister and was a true friend and neighbor.
