Full military funeral for Morris Olen Brock, 67, of Moulton, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Sanderson, Rev. Keith Murner and Bro. Tony Peppers officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Brock died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. He was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Limestone County. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Methodist Church. First SGT Brock joined the Athens, Alabama, National Guard, 1343rd Engineer Battalion in 1954. He served in the Moulton and Sheffield, Alabama, C Co 115th Signal Battalion from 1968 until his retirement in 1996 with forty-one years of service. He completed advanced NCO and 1st SGT courses among others.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Brock; one son, David Brock of Decatur; one daughter, Donna Hockman of Madison; and four grandchildren, Emily and Ashley Brock and Erica and Jake Hockman.
Moulton National Guard will serve as pallbearers. Active and past National Guard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
