Bruce L. Swihart, 62, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana.
Bruce was born February 10, 1949 in Goshen, Indiana the son of Norman Swihart and Barbara (Carpenter) Jewett.
He was the owner and operator of Distinctive Homes Incorporated in Bloomfield. He was very well respected and liked in his business.
Surviving relatives include his mother Barbara Jewett of Goshen, Indiana; his father Norman Swihart of Goshen, Indiana; one brother Randall Swihart of Osceola, Indiana; one sister Dawn Jackson of Middlebury, Indiana; one step-sister Pamela Thacker of Fishers, Indiana and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Mary (Conley) Swihart on April 6, 2010; his paternal grandparents Roy and Mary Swihart and his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Maurine Carpenter.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Yoder - Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, Indiana.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Yoder - Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, Indiana. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family wishes all donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Gideons.
