During WWII, Chuck served in the Asiatic Pacific. As a CPO in the Navy, he supported the cleanup of the devastation of Pearl Harbor. He worked forty years as an optical instrument maker at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard and was married to Theresa Griffith from 1952-1989. Chuck had a passion for fixing everything, weekends at his cabin, taking the perfect photo, and Beirut with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne (John) Kroneberger of California; their children, Sara, Laura and Greg; daughter, Pauline (Richard) Banducci of Massachusetts; their children, Julia and Annie; son, Joe (Suchita) Griffith of New Jersey; their children, Natasha and Nickolas; and daughter, Dona (Paul) Grace-Campbell of British Columbia.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6220 East Willow, Long Beach.
Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
