Aged Lady Passes Away:
Sunday morning, June 4th, at the hour of three o'clock, Mrs. Ellen Tetard, a pioneer of western Colorado, passed peacefully from life, after a long illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard A. McKnight with whom she had resided for a number of years.
Death was not unexpected. For the past five years Mrs. Tetard had been ill and for many months she had been absolutely helpless but she bore up under the long months of sickness with patience and fortitude and her daughter, Mrs. McKnight, proved a devoted, willing and tireless nurse throughout the long illness.
The deceased was born in Ireland in 1840, being seventy one years of age at the time of her death. In 1847, when but a girl of seven years she came with the family to America and they settle at Kenosha, Wis. and there resided for a great many years.
In 1884, the deceased, with her husband and children came west and settled at Crested Butte, Colo.
Nine years ago Mr. Tetard died and for several years past Mrs. Tetard had made her home with her daughter.
The deceased was a woman of fine character and her long life had been useful and noble in its nature.
The surviving children are John Tetard, of Omaha, Neb., William G. Tetard, of Dawson, New Mex., and Mrs. Eva T. McKnight, of Ouray.
Tuesday morning the remains were shipped to Kenosha, Wis. and in that city, the old home, the funeral and interment will take place.
Mrs. McKnight accompanied the remains east and the other surviving children will join her enroute and go to Kenosha for the funeral.
