Obituary:

Mollie L. Boring, a resident of Belleview, passed away on August 10, 2000 at the Potosi Manor at the age of 91 years, 5 months, 25 days.

She was born on February 16, 1909 in Piedmont, MO to Samuel B. and Pearl Williams Reed.

On March 13, 1929 she married John Wesley Boring, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jesse; three brothers, Everett, Lonnie, and Luther Reed; and two infant sisters.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mary Brooks of Hillsboro and Judith Gillam of Belleview; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; one brother, William Reed of Pilot Knob; three sisters, Gladys Anderson of Clinton, IL, Georgia Ahrens of Arcadia, and Helen Russell of Columbia, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was a member of Ironton Chapter #349 O.E.S. (Order of the Eastern Star) and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belleview, MO.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 11 at the White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don McGuire officiating. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery in Ironton.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the direction of White Funeral Home in Ironton.

Mollie was known for her homemade quilts. She made and sold many beautiful quilts, mostly hand-pieced. Several relatives own at least one of her prize quilts.
