DELAVAN—Mrs. Albert Recknagel, 83, died yesterday in her home, 218 W. Geneva St. The former Clara Roeker, daughter of Frank and Caroline Schmidt Roeker was born in Pomerania, Germany, April 2,
1884. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of three. She was married to Albert Recknagel in Elkhorn, June 24, 1909. They retired from farming in October, 1950 and located in Delavan. He died in 1955. Mrs. Recknagel was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Gold Star Mothers. Surviving are a son, Edgar, Darien; sue daughters, Katherine, Ella, Elizabeth and Ida, all of Delavan, Mrs. Helen Thomas, Elkhorn and Mrs. Esther Burcham, Delavan; three grandchildren. A son, Bennett was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, in Our Redeemer Church, the Rev. Donald C. Wilke, officiating. Burial in Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Betzer Funeral Home tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
