Born in Henderson County, Ill., December 18, 1871, Christopher Edward Piper, better known to his friends as "Chris" was the son of Henry and Dora (Sass) Piper.
He was reared in the Fall Creek and Cedar Creek communities and was a member of the Cedar Creek United Presbyterian church. He had never married. Since coming to Monmouth some years ago he had lived with his brother, James, at 1219 E. Broadway. Other surviving members of the family are a sister, Mrs. Sophia Walters of Monmouth, and two brothers, John Piper of Little York and Fritz Piper of Muskogee, Okla., One sister Mary and a brother, William preceded him in death.
Funeral servives are to be held at Holiday and McKnightFuneral Home. Interment will be in the Cedar Creek cemetery.
