----------
The Democrat today is called upon to perform a sad task—announce the death of our old and esteemed friend Hardin P. Gregory. Trustee of Liberty Township. Deceased was taken sick some two weeks ago, and notwithstanding his sturdy constitution, disease—the dreadful typhoid—ended his earthly career Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Mr. Gregory was a democrat of the old school, one of the faithful kind, whose politics, figuratively speaking, was his religion. He was an honest man in all the words imply; has served his township, officially, faithfully and well, and will be missed by hundreds of admiring friends. His age was about fifty-four years and the funeral occurred from the Vienna church, Rev. Peltzer officiating, Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment followed in the Vienna cemetery. He leaves a widow and two children, William Gregory and Mrs. Peter Schaff.
