The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 44, No 3, p 8, Jan. 19, 1888. In Ashaway, R. I., December 28, 1887, of neuralgia of the heart, Samuel Franklin Babcock, aged 69 years, 9 months and 21 days. He was the son of Jared and Lois (Lewis) Babcock. Mr. Babcock was born and spent most of his life un the town in which he died. Fifty-three years ago the 4th of last October, he united with the First Seventh-day Baptist Church of Hopkinton, while Elder Matthew Stillman was pastor, having come to Christ during the great revival under the labors of Elder Nathan V, Hull. He remained an honored member of this church until his death. Ten days before his decease he was taken sick, a physician was summoned and he soon revived. In a few days he appeared to be in his usual health. The morning of his departure he arose, came down stairs, and was putting on his boots when the fatal arrow of death struck him, and in a very few minutes, without speaking a single word of farewell, his life boat loosed from its moorings here to cast anchor on the eternal shores.I.
