Graveside services for C.L. Davis, 86, were held at the Olney cemetery. Davis died at his O'Donnell home.

He moved to Arkansas in 1885 from his home in Sparta, Tennessee with his parents.

Mr. Davis married Leona Engle at Engle, Arkansas on 6 August 1888 and the family then moved to Oney on 23 December 1906, where they lived on a farm northeast of Olney until August 1925.

They moved to O'Donnell and Mr. Davis was in the mercantile business in O'Donnell from 1928-1948.

Services were held at O'Donnell with Rev. Longino, pastor of the First Methodist Church at O'Donnell, assisted by Rev. Crandell, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Lubbock.

Graveside rites were officiated by Rev. W.J. Shelton, pastor of the First Methodist Church and Rev. L.C. Kerans, pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Pallbearers were Elo Hausler, Kibble Gragg, J.B. Hall, Harve Hennig, R.E. Wesley, Wilmer T. Swink.

Survived by his sons - Bob of Olney, O.R. of Truth or Consequences, NM, B.L. of O'Donnell; T.A. of Abernathy, E.J. of Trinidad, W.O. of Archer City, H.B. Davis of O'Donnell.
