Last Rites Today For Truman Spangler
Truman A. Spangler, died in Gladstone at 9 p.m. Monday, September 24. Last rites will be Thursday (today) at 2p.m. at the Sederwall funeral home, in Biggsville. Rev. Kenneth R. Douglas, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Oquawka cemetery.
Spangler was born the son of Charles and Dora Mills Spangler, in Oquawka township. He was married to Mary Galbraith, in Burlington on July 21, 1924. She survives, as do three sons and a daughter; Richard and Bernard, both of Avon, Melvin of Oquawka, and Betty Hurka, of Biggsville.
Also surviving are a brother, Phillip Spangler of Quincy; a sister Mrs. Marie Boughton, Burlington; a half brother, George Staley, of Peoria and 18 granchildren.
