A funeral for Donna G. May of Dayton will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The Rev. Doug Rose of First Christian Church, McMinnville, will officiate.

Interment will be in the mausoleum in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.

The funeral home will be open for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Mrs. May died of a stroke Oct. 31, 1999, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. She was 66.

She was born Dec. 5, 1932, in Broken Bow, Neb., the daughter of Lloyd and Shirley Davis Zentner Sr. She moved from Nebraska to Dayton in 1936. She lived at Alderman Farms, where her father was employed. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1951. After graduating, she worked at Alderman Farms for several years.

She and Zane A. May were married Sept. 9, 1951, in the formal gardens of Alderman Farms.

Mrs. May was a homemaker and also helped her husband on their farm. In 1967, she started a cucumber farming business at her home in Dayton.

She collected and refinished antique furniture. She enjoyed genealogy and Oregon history and loved fishing, camping and the beach.

Survivors include her mother, of McMinnville; four sons, Jerry May, Richard May, Robert May and Russell May, all of Dayton; a daughter, Jackie Olsen of Vancouver, Wash.; three brothers, Lowell Zentner and Lloyd Zentner Jr., both of Scappoose and John Zentner of Mount Aukum, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association in honor of Zane May, in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
