As a young boy he attended Beaver Crossing Public School and graduated with the Class of 1951. After a brief stint in the military, Don returned to Nebraska. He worked in cement construction for a time with his father. He was united in marriage to Mary Lierman on May 1, 1960 in York and to this union, daughter, Kim and son, Kelly were born.
Donald worked at York Packing Plant for several years before starting his own business of painting and roof construction and after his retirement, he continued to assist his son with the business. He also trapped and bought furs in Nebraska and surrounding states. He was inducted into "The American Trapper Long Line Hall Of Fame" . In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and especially working in his gardens, selling his tomatoes to businesses in the surrounding communities.
Donald was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner.
Donald is survived by his wife, Mary, Beaver Crossing, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Whit Sanders, Webb City, MO, son, Kelly Bolte, Friend, grandchildren, Cody and Austin Bolte, Dorchester, Jonathan and Whitney Sanders, Webb City, MO, former daughter-in-law, Kelli Burkey, Dorchester, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Arlan Upton, brother, Marvin Bolte, all of Beaver Crossing and a host of relatives and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
